What is a MAC Address?
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique hardware identifier assigned to every network interface controller (NIC). It's a 48-bit address typically displayed as six groups of two hexadecimal digits.
The first three octets (24 bits) form the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI), which identifies the manufacturer. This tool uses the OUI to look up the device vendor.
